The laboratories of Prof. Georg Brabant and Prof. Jens Mittag at the Center of Brain, Behavior and Metabolism, Univeristy of Lübeck are looking for highly motivated PhD students (f/m) for fully funded 3-year projects within the SPP1629 Thyroid TransAct of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft DFG starting in spring 2016. The projects focus on characterizing the biochemical, cardiovascular and metabolic effects of thyroid hormone in different in vivo model systems.
Candidates should hold a diploma/master in a relevant life sciences discipline (such as molecular life science, molecular biology, biochemistry, molecular medicine), have good organizational skills, should be fluent in English and willing to work with mice. Experience in molecular and cell biology techniques and a thorough knowledge of physiology are advantageous.
